The world's still spinning!  Last week saw unprecedented changes in UK politics and the issue of 'Brexit Uncertainty' is still having a major influence on business decisions, including those regarding investments in organic growth.  That said, nobody really has the answer.  Can your business afford to stand still until Brexit is sorted?

The perfect sum for successful business owners?

If A equals 1%, B equals 2%, C equals 3% etc. then:

K+N+O+W+L+E+D+G+E (11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5) equals 96% and H+A+R+D+W+O+R+K (8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11) equals 98%

Both are important in ensuring business success, but it’s A+T+T+I+T+U+D+E (1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5) that actually equals 100%!

The uncertainty of Brexit and new tariff and trade agreements yet to be agreed are causing significant problems in supply chain design for businesses of all sizes.  On its own, Brexit will impact just about every element of the PESTEL acronym.  Any business that fails to conduct adequate risk and business continuity analysis and design and implement effective mitigations, will have a much higher risk of business failure.  Forecasting and controlling cost of sales whilst delivering maximum levels of customer satisfaction has probably never been so more vital than it will be in the next few months.  If you can identify with this key business management issue but need help, we can support your implementation of 'Critical To Quality (CTQ) Risk Analysis and Mitigation' assessments and 'Business Continuity' planning. ASCS is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Lodge as Project Manager.  Jessica has several years' experience of working in a manufacturing environment and has practical experience of coordinating Lean continuous improvement (CI) activities. These included compiling CI Project Charters, 6S implementation and auditing, 8-Wastes Scavenge Hunts, COSHH auditing, chairing 8D non-conformance and corrective actions reviews and compiling procedures and documentation for the ISO.9001:2015 (Quality) and ISO.14001:2015 (Environmental) standards for inclusion in the IMS.

ASCS have completed a 12-month programme of implementing a bespoke business management system at Pharos Marine Automatic Power Ltd in Gorleston, Norfolk. This was based on compiling a 'gateway' process management tool from receipt of customer order through to invoicing, identifying all process inefficiencies and implementing the most appropriate improvement tools and techniques to increase the added-value content and therefore, improve productivity and profitability metrics as well as improve internal supplier/customer relationships.
